Patricia Rose (Marintzer) Riener

HERNDON, Kan. -- Patricia Rose (Marintzer) Riener, 50, died Tuesday (Oct. 16, 2001) at her home in rural Herndon.

She was born Oct. 23, 1950, at McCook to Hubert William and Doris C. (Janousek) Marintzer. She attended St. Mary's Parochial School, and graduated from Herndon Rural High School in 1968. She attended business school at Brown Mackie in Salina, Kan., and worked for 10 years as a secretary at Allison Drilling Company in Denver, Colo.

On June 10, 1978, she married Karol D. Riener.

She was a member of St. Mary's Assumption Catholic Church. She taught CCD, was a Eucharistic minister, and was a member of the Christian Mothers Altar Society, all of Herndon.

She was preceded in death by her father, Hubert Marintzer on Nov. 27, 1984; and one son, Michael on July 2, 1984.

Survivors include her husband, Karol of Herndon; five sons, John P. Riener of Herndon, James D Riener of Manhattan, Kan., and Daniel Riener, and Jeffrey Riener, both of Herndon; one daughter, Jessica of Herndon; her mother, Doris Marintzer of Herndon; three brothers, Damian Marintzer and wife, Linda of Westminister, Colo., John Marintzer and wife, Cindy of Northglenn, Colo., and Luke Marintzer of Herndon; and five sisters, Connie Walker and husband, Cecil of Porter, Texas, Becky Faimon and husband, Stanley of Stratton, Vicky Mumm and husband, Charles of Gem, Kan., and Lydia Bryan and husband, Steve of Arvada, Colo., and Chris Halling and husband, Joe of Thornton, Colo.

Mass of Christian burial services will be Friday, 10:30 a.m., at St. Mary's Assumption Catholic Church of Herndon with the Rev. Damian Richards officiating. Interment will be at the St. Mary's Cemetery in Herndon.

A parish vigil and Christian Mothers Altar Society rosary service will be tonight, 6 p.m., at the church.

Visitation is today after 5 p.m. at the church.

Memorials may be given in her name.
