ARAPAHOE -- Georga B. Olmsted, 93, of Arapahoe died Saturday (Oct. 27, 2001) at Cambridge Memorial Hospital at Cambridge.

She was born April 15, 1908, at Hendley to Frank and Lora (Mellinger) Bruening. She was a life long resident of Furnas County. She graduated from Beaver City High School with the class of 1925. Following graduation she taught rural county school for three years.

On June 15, 1928, she married Lloyd Olmsted at Hendley. They farmed north of Beaver City and east of Arapahoe for a number of years. They moved into Arapahoe in 1953 and continued to farm until the mid 1970s when they retired. He preceded her in death on Dec. 5, 1988. She moved to C. A. Mues Nursing Home in Arapahoe in February of 1997.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Beaver City before transferring to First United Methodist Church in Arapahoe. She was also a member of the Methodist Quilting Club, United Methodist Women and Arapahoe Country Extension club.

She was preceded in death by parents; her husband, Lloyd in 1988; an infant son; one daughter, Delores Wurm in 1999; one brother, Wendell Bruening in 1992; one grandson, Warren Carpenter in 1957; one great-granddaughter, Bernadette Carpenter and son-in-law, George Best in 2000.

Survivors include two sons, Delbert Olmsted and wife, Peggy of Lincoln, and Clinton Olmsted and wife, Ardella of Arapahoe; one daughter, Corinne Best of Orlando, Fla.; 16 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Services will be Tuesday, 10:30 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Arapahoe with the Rev. Hyeongdong Baek officiating. Interment will be at the Arapahoe Cemetery in Arapahoe

Visitation is tonight until 8 p.m. at Williamson-Wenburg Funeral Home in Arapahoe, and prior to services Tuesday at the church.

Williamson-Wenburg Funeral Home of Arapahoe is in charge of the arrangements.
