INDIANOLA -- Louise M. Luther, 86, died Saturday (Dec. 1, 2001) at Hillcrest Nursing Home.

She was born May 19, 1915, at Orleans to Aloysius and Susanna (Hoxmeier) Streff. She attended rural schools near Orleans.

On Feb. 17, 1942, she married Kenneth Luther at Orleans. She lived most of her life at Indianola. They moved to Hillcrest on Aug. 11, 1997.

She was a member of St. Catherine's Catholic Church and the Altar Society, the You-Go-I-Go card club and several other card clubs. She was also a Cub Scout Den Mother, and helped with 4-H.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Dora, Christine and Martha Streff; and three brothers, Edwin, Paul and Norbert Streff.

Survivors include her husband, Kenneth of McCook; one son, Clayton Luther and wife, Marilyn of Grand Island; two daughters, Suzanne Davidson of Curtis and Barbara Weskamp and husband, Lonnie of Denver, Colo.; one brother, Ernie Streff and wife, Eileen of Orleans; one sister, Florence Manley of Alma; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandsons.

Mass of Christian Burial services will be Tuesday, 10:30 a.m., at St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Indianola with Msgr. Daniel Pohl and the Rev. Gary Brethour officiating. Interment will be at 2:30 p.m. at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Orleans.

The rosary service is tonight, 7:30 p.m., at the Carpenter Funeral Home in Indianola.

Visitation is tonight until 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the Alzheimer's Association, 5601 S. 27th St., Studio 101, Lincoln, NE 68512.
