G. Randall Amack
OBERLIN -- G. Randall Amack, 68, died Wednesday (Dec. 19, 2001) at the Hays Medical Center, St. Anthony's Campus, in Hays, Kan.
He was born July 11, 1933, at Prairie Dog Township in Decatur County, Kan., to Stanser James and Minnie Elva (George) Amack. He was raised in rural Decatur County and attended the District No. 102 school and the Selden Grade School. He graduated from Decatur Community High School in 1951.
He served in the U.S. Army.
On Nov. 22, 1959, he married Mary Ann Shimek at the Jennings Methodist Church. He was a hog farm manager.
He was a member of the Oberlin Methodist Church, Oberlin American Legion Post No 70, the Masonic Lodge and Eastern Star.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann Amack of Oberlin; one son, Kevin Amack and wife, Georgann of Meeker, Colo.; one daughter, Shelly Ahrens and husband, John of Dallas, Texas; one brother, James E. Amack and wife, Eileen of Loveland, Colo.; one sister, Florence Marcellus and husband, Ralph; and four grandchildren.
Services will be Saturday, 11 a.m., at Pauls Funeral Home of Oberlin with the Rev. Doug Hasty officiating. Interment will be at the Oberlin Cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Saturday, 8 a.m. until the time of the service.
Memorials may be given in his name to the Oberlin Methodist Church.
