Lidya 'Lela' Klein

RED LODGE, Mont. -- Lidya "Lela" Klein, 98, died Wednesday (Jan. 16, 2002) in Cedar Wood Villa in Red Lodge.

She was born Jan. 22, 1903, in McCook to Conrad and Marie (Amen) Bauer. She moved to Colorado when she was young. On Feb. 11, 1924, she married Samuel Klein in Iliff, Colo. They made their home in McCook.

She was preceded in death by her husband.

Survivors include one son, Gaylen and wife, JoAnn of Red Lodge, Mont.; one daughter, Jeanette and husband, Bob Esteb of Sugar Land, Texas; two sisters, Emily Shirley of Fort Collins, Colo., and Palma Bettale of Broomfield, Colo.; six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

Services and interment will take place at a later date in McCook.

Memorials may be left in her name to the charity of the donor's choice.

Smith-Olcott Funeral Chapel in Red Lodge is in charge of the arrangements.
