Bernice A. Hummels

WOODLAND, Wash. -- Bernice A. Hummels, 93, died Monday (Jan. 14, 2002) at Battle Ground Nursing Home in Woodland, Wash.

She was born Dec. 17. 1908, to Mr. and Mrs. John L. Parrott at Goodland, Kan.

In 1924, she married Francis Hummels. Following his death, she received her beauticians license and operated her own beauty shop in Woodland for 20 years.

She was a member of the Woodland Presbyterian Church, TOPS and KOPS.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis in 1958; and her parents.

Survivors include one son, Glen L. Hummels of El Paso, Texas; one daughter, Imogene Shepherd of Woodland; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Local relatives include Virginia Brant and Lou Balius.

Graveside inurnment will be Friday, 3 p.m., at Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Dr. Jeffery Thurman officiating.
