Elaine Irene (Christner) Foth

WAUNETA -- Elaine Irene (Christner) Foth, 73, died Monday (May 27, 2002) at Great Plains Regional Medical Center in North Platte.

She was born Aug. 25, 1928, to Henry J. and Meta (Quandt) Noffke near Grand Island. She graduated from Grand Island High School in 1946. She went on to attend Grand Island Business School.

On Dec. 1, 1950, she married Warren Christner at Grand Island. The couple made their home in rural Wauneta until his death, at which time she moved into Wauneta. She worked at Heritage of Wauneta as a cook until 1983, when she moved back to Grand Island. She then worked at the Lebensraum Retirement Home in Grand Island.

On Jan 13, 1990, she married Lyle Foth at Ord. Following his death, she moved back to Wauneta.

She was a member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church of Wauneta. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Warren in 1974; and her husband, Lyle in 1997.

Survivors include one son, Wayne Christner and wife, Noreen of Wauneta; five step-daughters, Chris and husband, Bruce Reinboth of North Platte, Kay and husband, Terry Heins of Chamberlain, S.D., Gretchen and husband, Len Gebhardt of Charter Oak, Iowa, Eileen and husband, Dave Kuhnie of Honey Creek, Iowa, and Kim and husband, Dave Wamburg of Fullerton; four grandchildren; and numerous step-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Friday, 10:30 a.m., at Redeemer Lutheran Church of Wauneta with Pastor Greg Stuckwisch officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery of Wauneta.

Visitation will be Thursday from 2-6 p.m. at Liewer Funeral Home of Wauneta.

A memorial has been established to the Wauneta Senior Center and the Redeemer Lutheran Church of Wauneta.
