Paulyne DeNio Wilkinson

CURTIS -- Paulyne DeNio Wilkinson, was born Margaret Paulyne DeNio on July 19, 1915, in Salina, Kan., the fourth child of Elizabeth Maude Boyle DeNio and Benjamin DeNio. Her best friend and loving husband Robert "Scott" Wilkinson, was waiting for his "Poll" when she awoke in the arms of our Lord and Savior on June 1, 2002.

Joining in the celebration of the beginning of her eternal life are four children who call her "Mama", nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren that call her "Gaga", her lifelong friend who affectionately calls her "Pug" and numerous friends and family that know her as "Polly".

Growing up in Kansas, Polly moved to Nebraska in October of 1947, to marry Robert Scott Wilkinson, so that both of their lives might be complete. Their four children, Paula, Suzi, John and Julie grew up surrounded by love, understanding, support and compassion. Polly taught her children by example.

Active in the Curtis Congregational Church, she practiced faith in her daily life. She was the sunshine in the lives of her husband, family and numerous friends.

An avid Nebraska fan, she and her husband Scott attended virtually every home football game for almost forty years, with Polly continuing for another sixteen years with family and friends in tow.

Polly's strengths included being a gracious hostess, golfing, active in Curtis Little Theater productions, playing bridge and spending hours making Christmas ornaments for the Annual Congregational Christmas Tea, her PEO sisters and many other friends. Her flare for color and design was evident in her home and she was always willing to help a friend or neighbor with decorating tips and ideas.

Daughter, Paula Kay Wilkinson Keller, husband, Jerry, and children, Jason and James of Littleton, Colo.; daughter, Suzanne DeNio Wilkinson Harland, husband, Dan, children Scott, Luke and Sarah and grandchildren, Jon and Tyler of Curtis; son, John Scott Wilkinson, wife, Marla and children, Kara and Matt of Curtis; and daughter, Julie Elizabeth Wilkinson Jorgensen, husband, Mike and children, Lisa and Vicki of Oshkosh, together with family and friends, will join together to celebrate the life of this remarkable woman on Thursday, June 6, 2002, at 10:30 a.m. at the Congregational Church in Curtis.

A memorial has been established at the Curtis State Bank, POB 45, Curtis, NE 69025.
