Alice Marie Farrell

WAVELAND, Miss. -- Alice Marie Farrell of Waveland, Miss., formerly of San Diego, Calif., passed away at her home Friday (Oct. 4, 2002).

Memorial services will be Nov. 2, 10 a.m., at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Herndon with burial services following at St. Mary's Cemetery.

Mrs. Farrell was born April 24, 1916, to Mathias "Mat" and Elizabeth (Huss) Hartner at Herndon. She attended St. Mary's school and graduated with the class of 1934.

Alice married Lee Flechenstein in February 1942. Lee passed away in Dec. 1949. On Jan. 5, 1953, Alice married James A. Farrell at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in McCook. Two sons were born to this union, James F. Farrell of Carlsbad, Calif., and Kent A. Farrell of Waveland. Her husband passed away Jan. 27, 2002, in San Diego. After his death, Alice moved to Waveland. Her hobbies were crocheting, growing flowers and reading.

Alice is survived by her two sons; one granddaughter, Shannon Farrell of Carlsbad; three sisters, Esther Pennington of Arvada, Colo., Rita Eckherdt of Loveland, Colo., and Joan Noble of Grand Island; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; four brothers; and two sisters.
