SYRACUSE, Kan. -- Thomas Roger Malleck, 64, died Tuesday (Jan. 14, 2003) at the Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.

He was born Sept. 30, 1938, at Indianola, to James John and Genevieve Elizabeth (Powers) Malleck. He attended school at Indianola Public Schools where he graduated from high school in 1957.

In 1958, he married Ona Faye Larson.

In 2002, he married Sherri McKellips at Syracuse, Kan. They resided in Syracuse where he worked for Dominion Exploration.

Preceding him in death were his parents James and Genevieve Malleck; and one brother, James Marvin Malleck.

Survivors include his wife, Sherri Malleck of Syracuse; two daughters, Tammy Jo and husband, Craig Brewster of Butte and Kimberly and husband, Rich Barnett of McCook; three sons, Michael Malleck and wife, Roxann, Shawn Malleck and wife, Michele, and Brian Malleck and wife, Carla, all of Indianola; step-children, Roxie Lee Baker Jr. of LePort, Texas and Sasha and husband, Russell Maestas of Colorado Springs, Colo.; four sisters, Vonda Parrott and Jeannine and husband, Joe Reed, all of Lincoln, Judy and husband, Randy Keith and Jane and husband, Dan Bahl, all of Indianola; three brothers, Dennis Malleck and wife, Marilyn of Ness City, Kan., Lonnie Malleck and wife, Laura Jo of Syracuse, and Philip Malleck of Indianola; 12 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Services will be Saturday, 10 a.m., at St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Indianola with the Rev. Nicholas Baker officiating. Burial will be in the St. Catherine's Cemetery. The rosary is today, 7 p.m., at Carpenter Funeral Home in Indianola.
