Everett Lewis Vise

BEAVER CITY -- Everett Lewis Vise, 97, died Sunday (Jan. 26, 2003) at the Beaver City Manor in Beaver City.

He was born May 12, 1905, near Wilsonville, to Samuel and Nancy Ann (Jones) Vise.

On Feb. 25, 1926, he married Florence McConnell at Norton, Kan. He farmed south of Cambridge and Wilsonville. He retired and moved from the farm to Beaver City in 1994, where he lived in his home until 1996. Since that time, he has lived in the Beaver City Manor.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Florence in 1993; son-in-law, Royce Whitney; brother, Russell; five sisters, Fern Bullock, Irsa Shoemaker, Viora Henry, Dora McCoy and Helen Knutson; and one grandson.

Survivors include four sons, Robert Vise and wife, Dorothy of Beaver City, Wayne Vise and wife, Helen of Springfield, Mo., Dwight Vise and wife, Ruth of Beaver City and John Vise and wife, Sharon of Boise, Idaho; three daughters, Naedene Whitney of Norton, Jean and husband, Jim Kircher of Burlington, Wash., and Sharon and husband, Tim Tillotson of Wilsonville; sister, Pearl Knutson of Odessa, Mo.; 18 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Thursday, 10:30 a.m., at the Lockenour-Jones Mortuary in Cambridge with Keith Theobald officiating. Interment will be in the Wilsonville Cemetery at Wilsonville.

Memorials may be given in his name.
