Darin E. Koetter

Darin E. Koetter, 34 of McCook, died Thursday, (Jan. 30, 2003) at Community Hospital of McCook.

He was born March 14, 1968, to Richard and Marilyn (McKillip) Koetter. He attended country school at District 41 through eighth grade and graduated from McCook High School in 1986. He made his home in McCook working on the family farm and with various local business owners.

On May 29, 1993, he married Leila Hoyt in McCook. He started his own spreading and trucking business in 2001.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Arthur Koetter Sr., Mary Koetter and Nile McKillip.

Survivors include his wife Leila; two sons, Logan and Dalton; a step-daughter Michaela; his parents Richard and Marilyn Koetter; grandmother Opal McKillip all of McCook; three sisters, Deb and husband, Kent Meyers, Diana Wilkinson and Donna and husband, Mark Friehe all of McCook; and two brothers, Richard Koetter of Hastings and Doug Koetter and wife, Mellisa of McCook.

Funeral services were today, 2 p.m., at the Memorial United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. Jeffrey Thurman officiating. Burial was in the Memorial Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in his name into a trust fund for the benefit of his children.
