Dale E. Nowka

TRENTON -- Dale E. Nowka, 79, died Friday (June 20, 2003) at Hillcrest Nursing Home in McCook.

He was born July 22, 1923, in Culbertson, to Albert and Alice (Rousselle) Nowka. He grew up at Culbertson and graduated from Culbertson High School. He began farming north of Culbertson.

In 1945, he married Dorothy Blobaum at Oberlin.

On Oct. 14, 1966, he married Josephine Zulauf. They farmed until retiring and moving to Atwood in 1972. In 1984, they moved to Trenton where he spent the remainder of his life.

He was a member of the National Flying Farmers, National Rifle Association and the Christian Motorcycle Association.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Robert Nowka; and one grandson, Jeremy Bundy.

Survivors include his wife, Josephine of Trenton; two daughters, Sherry and husband, Ken Carfield of North Platte and Cindy and husband, Tim Bundy of Las Vegas, Nev.; two sons, Mark Nowka and wife, Debbie and Todd Nowka of Omaha; two step-children, Barry Zulauf of Lincoln and Roxaine and husband, Jim Clark of Wenatchee, Wash.; sister-in-law, Esther Nowka of Culbertson; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, 10:30 a.m., at the Church of God in Trenton with Johnny Walker officiating. Interment will be at the Grove Cemetery at Culbertson.

Memorials may be given in his name and friends may call at the funeral home in Trenton.
