HOLBROOK -- Rhonda Arlene Brown, 48, died Saturday (Aug. 23, 2003) at her home after a long illness.

She was born Jan. 15, 1955, to Richard and Loretta (Cochran) Morgan in Norton, Kan. She grew up in the Norton area. She worked for the family owned cafe, The Lucky Strike Grill, from age 14-22.

On Dec. 9, 1974, she married Ron Brown in Norton. The couple moved to Holbrook, where they had made their home for 26 years. She worked part-time at the Frontier Cafe in Cambridge.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents.

Survivors include her husband, Ron Brown of Holbrook; two sons, Michael and Jacob of Holbrook; three daughters, Andrea and husband, Rick Holaday of Grinnell, Kan., Nicki and husband, Tom Arnold of Hays, Kan., and Staci Brown of Hays, Kan.; one sister, Rene Morgan of Hays; two brothers, Richard and wife, Belinda Morgan of Ellis, Kan., and Robert and wife, Roberta Morgan of Cheney, Kan.; and five grandchildren.

Services are Tuesday, 11 a.m., at Lockenour-Jones Mortuary in Cambridge with Scott Mustion officiating. Interment will be in the Norton Cemetery in Norton.

Memorials may be given in her name to the Furnas County American Cancer Fund or to the educational fund established for her two sons.
