BARTLEY -- Wayne P. Woods, 81, died today (Sept. 4, 2003) at Cambridge Memorial Hospital in Cambridge.

He was born Dec. 2, 1921, to Claude P. and Minnie (White) Woods in Trenton. He grew up in Trenton where he attended Trenton High School.

He entered the Army and served in World War II.

On Oct. 12, 1946, he married Twila Thompson in Atwood. The couple resided in Trenton until moving to Stratton in 1961. In 1973, the couple moved to Wood River, where he continued his occupation as a commercial electrician. The couple retired and moved to Bartley.

He was a member of the Wood River Volunteer fire department and he was an EMT. He was also a member of the American Legion and the VFW.

He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant son, Wayne Woods in 1958.

Survivors include his wife, Twila of Bartley; three daughters, Carol Ault and husband, Jim of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Regina Toledo and husband, Juan of Elwood and Penny Klumpe and husband, Randy of Maywood; and eighth grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Services are Saturday, 2 p.m., at the Herrmann Memorial Chapel in McCook with Pastor Tim Burke officiating. Interment is in the Bartley Cemetery.

Memorials may be given in his name and friends may call the funeral home in McCook.
