Fish Fry Fridays tradition continues

Thursday, March 6, 2014

McCOOK, Nebraska -- The McCook council of the Knights of Columbus is proud to announce that this year marks the 25th anniversary of their annual Fish Fry Fridays. The organization will be offering a wide variety of dinner options for the next six Friday evenings at the KC Hall, located at 309 East Ninth in McCook, starting March 7 at 5:30 p.m. The "all-you-can-eat" meal costs $9 for adults and $4 for children under 12, and is open to the public.

As always, the money raised by the Knights goes toward supporting various charitable causes, among them St. Patrick School, the YMCA and Legion baseball.

The menu includes pollock prepared three different ways by the Knights -- baked, Cajun and beer-battered -- plus sides including coleslaw, scalloped potatoes and vegetables. There's also a children's menu available, featuring cheese pizza, grilled cheese sandwiches and spaghetti with tomato sauce. Desserts, plus tea and coffee, will be provided as well.

There will also be an opportunity for attendees to win a cash prize, with a "split the pot" drawing held every week. More information about the drawing will be available at the door.

Carry-out dinners will be prepared, but advance notice is requested. Contact Don Roberts (345-1869) or Jerry Bauer (345-3974) to put in an order. For any other information, call Bob Burns at 340-8837.
