Nothing but net for 'Nothing but Nets'

Friday, February 1, 2013

McCOOK, Nebraska -- The Rev. Lance Clay, pastor at Memorial United Methodist Church, along with Dave Winder will face off against Alisa Parde, associate pastor at MUMC and Jeff Crick, Friday, Feb. 8, during the halftime festivities at the boys basketball game, competing to see which team can make the most free throws to benefit the United Methodist Church's battle for "No More Malaria."

Ballots are $10, yellow sheets are a vote for Parde's team; a green sheet is a vote for Clay's team. Each ballot pays for a net that will help to protect children from contracting this devastating disease.

The signed ballots will be placed in matching cans and following the competition, one sheet from the winning team's can will be drawn, designating the winner of a "No More Malaria" T-shirt and a $100 cash prize.

Nets can be purchased at the game, or at MUMC, Norris and E Streets, in McCook.
