Santa's workshop draws more than 300

McCOOK, Nebraska -- Santa Claus took his show on the road recently when his sleigh landed at the McCook Community College Events Center for holiday workshop than involved more than 300 people from the community.

Santa's helpers from the college numbered more than 150 and included members of Phi Theta Kapp, the MCC Student Senate, athletes from the Lady Indian volleyball, basketball and softball team, the MCC Men's basketball and baseball teams. Elves who volunteered were Nelly Mora and Zoe Budge. MCC Baseball Coach Jon Olsen, dressed in Santa garb to spread holiday to more than 150 children who attended the event.

Student volunteers helped with games, crafts and just having a great time with the kids. The night's event also included a puppet show by the North Platte Softball Girls.

All the canned goods received that night were delivered to the McCook Pantry. Volunteers that helped deliver the goods were Zoe Budge, Christina Perez and Sage McConnell.
