Council reduces city land-line tax

McCOOK, Nebraska -- The McCook City Council approved an ordinance, Monday evening, which implemented a rare reduction in local taxes to citizens. The ordinance, approved on its third and final reading, reduces the city occupation tax on telephone land lines from 3 percent to 1.5 percent and will be effective Jan. 1, 2013.
