OBERLIN, Kansas -- Norman George Wendelin, 62, died Thursday (Sept. 6, 2012), at the Cedar Living Center in Oberlin.

He was born May 9, 1950, in McCook, Nebrask, to Karl and Edna (Holle) Wendelin and raised on a farm east of Herndon.

He attended Herndon High School and lived in Herndon and Oberlin.

He married Joanne Larson Aug. 13, 1976, in Oberlin. He was a member of St. John's Luthern Church, Sunflower Chapter Pheasants Forever and a lifetime member of the NRA.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Karl and Edna Wendelin and sister, Holly Wendelin.

He is survived by his wife, Joanne of Oberlin; sons, Ladd Wendelin of Lincoln, Nebraska; daughter, Greta Wendelin and fiance, Igor Perel of Overland Park, Kansas, and Rory Wendelin of Oberlin; brothers, Lawrence and wife, Lydia Wendelin of Gothenburg, Nebraska, Bruce Wendelin of Herndon and Pat and wife, Elvira Wendelin of Lindsborg, Kansas.

Services are Friday, Sept. 14, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church in Oberlin with the Rev. Brad Rick officiating. Interment is at the Oberlin Cemetery.
