ALMA, Nebraska -- Funeral services for Norma J. Trenchard will be conducted from the First Baptist Church in Oxford, Nebraska, on Friday, March 23, 2012, at 10:30 a.m., with Pastor Paul Sowden officiating. Interment will be in the Oxford Cemetery.

Norma J. Trenchard, 81 years of age, of Oxford, passed away on Monday, March 19, 2012, at the Colonial Villa Good Samaritan Center in Alma, Nebraska. Norma was born June 2, 1930, at Cambridge, Nebraska, the daughter of Harry "Bus" and Isabelle (Estergard) Seago. She received her education at Cambridge Public Schools, graduating from Cambridge High School with the class of 1948.

On March 12, 1950, Norma was united in marriage to Paul E. Trenchard and to the union four children were born: Stephen, Georgia, Doug and Allyson. The family made their home north of Edison, Nebraska for 16 years, before settling and purchasing the Ballard Ranch southwest of Oxford in 1966. Following retirement in 1982, Norma and Paul moved into Oxford.

Norma loved her flower garden and had a special place in her heart for her cats. Norma loved the time spent with her grandchildren.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Oxford, where she sang in the choir for many years and other occasions as well.

She was preceded in death by her parents and granddaughter, Katrina Kaye Trenchard. Norma is survived by her husband, Paul of Oxford; four children: Steve Trenchard and his wife, Mellie of Kingwood, Texas, Georgia Orton of Omaha, Nebraska, Doug Trenchard and his wife, Zeny of Oxford, and Allyson Peshek and her husband, Lee of Clay Center, Nebraska; 14 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Thursday, March 22, 2012, from 4 -- 8 p.m. with the family greeting from 6 -- 7:30 p.m. at the Mitchell-Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Oxford.

A memorial has been established in her memory and kindly suggested to First Baptist Church of Oxford or the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
