GREENACRES, Washington -- Raymond "Ray" L. Lebsack, age 71, passed away Feb. 18, 2012, at Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Greenacres.

He was born Dec. 18, 1940, in McCook, Nebraska, to Raymond and Helen (Downs) Lebsack. Ray retired as a Lt. Colonel from the U.S. Air Force after 31 years of service. He was a pilot and navigator and served during the Vietnam War. In May of 1974, Ray graduated from Gonzaga University with his Doctorate in Law and became a Lawyer in the Spokane area. He also received his teaching certificate from Eastern Washington University in June of 2005. Ray married his soul-mate, Anne Davis, on May 21, 1994, in Spokane. He and Anne were a match made in Heaven. The love they shared and fun they had together was so special.

Ray was a sportsman who enjoyed fishing and hunting and loved the outdoors. One of the couple's fondest memories was all the time spent fishing with one another. Ray was a man who loved people, children, his family and friends. He was an inspiration to his wife, sons, family and many others.

Ray was a member of many organizations and clubs: Trout Unlimited, Bass Anglers Sportsman Assoc., Ducks Unlimited, National Rifle Assoc., Military Officer Assoc. and the National Guard Assoc. of the U.S.

He is survived by his loving wife, Anne Lebsack of Greenacres; sons, Michael (Donna) Lebsack, Steven Lebsack and Matthew (Teressa) Lebsack; mother, Helen Lebsack; brothers, Jerry Lebsack and Allen Michael Lebsack; grandchildren, Jacob, Jesse, Jeremiah, Juliyana, Ashton, Madeline and Triston; special friends, Elysia Loyd, Jan and Roger Howard and Dick and Irene Tesch and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Ray was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Lebsack.

Visitation will be Thursday, Feb. 23, 2012, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

A funeral service will take place Friday, Feb. 24, 2012, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home chapel. Burial with full military honors will be later that day at 2:15 p.m. at the Washington State Veterans Cemetery, Medical Lake, Washington.
