Dale L. Brunk

OBERLIN, Kansas -- Dale L. Brunk, 92, died Thursday (Jan. 19, 2012) in Oberlin.

He was born April 7, 1919, to To Eddie N. and Dollie (Logan) Brunk in Norcatur,Kansas. He was raised in rural Norcatur where he attended country school. He served in the U.S. Army in World War II.

He worked in hotel and restaurant management and for the Oberlin police department.

He lived in Oberlin most of his life and lived in other various locations while working for Motel 6.

He was a member of the Oberlin American Legion Post No. 70 and Elks Lodge.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Nila Brunk; son, Erroll Brunk; son-in-law, Robert Kleidosty Sr.; brother, Eddie Brunk; two sisters, Vera Brunk and Iva Ferguson; and a grandson, Eric Brunk.

He is survived by one daughter, Janene Kleidosty of Lawrenceville, Georgia; one daughter-in-law, Judy Brunk of McCook, Nebraska; one brother-in-law, Chester (Maxine) Vernon of Lincoln, California; six grandchildren, five step- grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and eight step- great-grandchildren.

Services are Monday, Jan. 23, 2012, at 2 p.m. at Pauls Funeral Home with the Rev. Linda Wiley officiating. Interment is at the Oberlin Cemetery.

Visitation is Sunday from 2-8 p.m. and Monday from 8 a.m. until service time.

Memorials may be given to Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired.
