Eola Stanton

ALMA, Nebraska -- Eola Lloydell (Kincaid) Stanton died Sunday, Jan. 8, 2012, at the Colonial Village Nursing Home in Alma, Nebraska at the age of 94.

She was born June 22, 1917, at Cambridge, Nebraska, the daughter of the late Ira B. and Neva (DeWester) Watson. Eola grew up at Cambridge where she graduated from Cambridge High School.

On Jan. 16, 1936, Eola married Albert Kincaid and he preceded her in death on Sept. 21, 1977. She married Lee Stanton, who also preceded her in death.

When she was young she was called "Little Babe" because she loved baseball and could run like the wind. She loved to tap dance and danced in Denver. She taught herself how to play the organ and played everything from Jazz to Sacred music. She could also play the ukulele. She married and had five children and many grandchildren, great- grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She could tell delightful stories and loved to play games and cards with them. Yhatzee was the game.

She was the one who picked up all the ladies to go to the card games. When she was in her seventies, her husband and she taught square dancing. She was particular about her hair and dress and loved her jewelry. Her yard and home were her pride, and she planted trees, bushes, flowers and roses. Her yard was filled with little creatures. She has been a caregiver for the elderly and visited the nursing home to cheer someones life. Music, friends and family have been her life. When she can she will say "thank you" for my care. A family graveside service was 2 p.m.. Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2012, at the Cambridge Cemetery in Cambridge, Nebraska with Rev. Richard Kaff officiating, Interment was in the Cambridge Cemetery.
