Ervin G. 'Jerry' Coyle

McCOOK, Nebraska -- Ervin Gerald "Jerry" Coyle died Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2012, at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, Nebraska at the age of 81.

He was born March 5, 1930, at Culbertson, Nebraska, the son of the late Ervin and Verna (Schnell) Coyle.

Ervin grew up at Culbertson and graduated from High School at the School of Agriculture at Curtis, Nebraska.

On June 18, 1950, Ervin married Jacqueline Elaine Campbell at the Memorial United Methodist Church in McCook.

They made their home at Holdrege for four years before moving to Hayes County where they farmed. They moved to Culbertson in 1963, where he started Coyle Appliance and in 1967, he started C & K Distributors west of McCook where he was a Case and Dodge dealer.

They moved to McCook in 1988. He was a member of the Wheat Belt Inc.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jacqueline, on May 2, 2006, one daughter, Tracey Lee Coyle on Jan. 29, 1970, and by an infant son, Ronald Dean Coyle, on April 10, 1952.

Jerry is survived by one daughter, Rebecca "Becky" Funk and husband, Ken and one son, Neal Coyle and Jane Holmes of McCook, Nebraska; three grandchildren, Brenden Funk, Nichelle Funk and Camden Funk, all of McCook.

Funeral Services will be 2 p.m.. Monday, Jan. 16, 2012, at the Memorial United Methodist Church in McCook with associate pastor Alisa Parde officiating, Interment will be in the Culbertson Cemetery at Culbertson, Nebraska.

Visitation will be Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 1 to 9 p.m. Memorials may be given in his name and left at the funeral home.
