McCOOK, Nebraska -- Evelyn (Kincaid) Richards. age 93. passed away at McCook Community Hospital on Sunday Sept. 25, 2011.

She was born on Feb. 2, 1918, in Danbury, Nebraska, the daughter of Grant and Hattie (Weatherwax) Kincaid. She graduated from high school in Danbury and married Harlan Richards on July 15, 1936, at Oberlin, Kansas. They resided in the greater McCook area including Culbertson, Palisade, Curtis, Hastings and then moving to Tucson, Arizona in 1967. They returned to McCook in 1987.

Besides being a wonderful mother and homemaker she worked as a secretary for the Conservation Office in Frontier County and for the Arizona State University. In addition to raising her family she was a friend and companion to many people all her life. No one was ever a stranger for long and she always had the coffee pot full.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harlan Richards on Jan. 6, 1992; sister, Letha Chambers and brother, Albert Kincaid.

Evelyn's survivors include daughters, Shirley Morris of Omaha, Nebraska, Deanna Lehl of Des Moines, Iowa, son, Larry and wife Linda of McCook, Nebraska, son Ron and wife Candy of Big Springs, Nebraska and son, Steven of Lincoln, Nebraska, 10 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grand children. Evelyn leaves behind a host of other family members and friends.

Memorial services will be 11a.m..Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2011, at Herrmann Memorial Chapel with Dale Heimer officiating.
