NORTON COUNTY, Kansas -- Geraldine Fay Golbek, daughter of Gerald and Lela (Brown) Ruby, was born Oct. 26, 1942, in McCook, Nebraska, and passed away at her home in

Norton County, Kansas, on Sept. 8, 2011, at the age of 68.

Geraldine attended the schools in Danbury, Nebraska. On Jan. 27,

1963, she married Gerald Golbek in Danbury. They later moved to Norton,

where they lived for over 40 years.

Geraldine was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Norton.

She loved reading romance novels, gardening, and cats, but her greatest

loves were her family and her dog, Harley.

Survivors include her husband, Gerald, of their home in Norton County;

one daughter, Letha Cox, McCook, Nebraska; one sister, Edna and husband, Larry Brush of McCook; two grandchildren, Jennifer and Shaun Cox; one great-granddaughter, Chloe Johnson; a niece, Tammy Brush of McCook; a great-nephew, Justin Brush; and other relatives and friends.

Geraldine was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Vicki Ruby,

and one grandson, Matthew Cox.

Services are at 10 a.m., Wednesday at Enfield Funeral Home 215 Main, Norton Kansas. Interment will follow at the Lebanon Cemetery in Lebanon, Nebraska.

Memorials are being accepted.

Visitation is Tuesday, 3-8 p.m., at the funeral home.
