McCOOK, Nebraska -- Andrew Frank Lakatosh, 73, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2011, in the Community Hospital at McCook, Nebraska.

Andrew was born Oct. 13, 1937, in Northampton, Pennsylvania. He was the son of Andrew and Catherine (Mushko) Lakatosh. He grew up at Northampton where he graduated from high school.

He joined the U.S. Army on Feb. 25, 1957. He was stationed in Wiesbaden, Germany and served in the German Corridor until Feb. 11, 1960.

He was married to Christel (Weitschies) on June 25, 1960 in Oak Park, Illinois. He was employed as a supervisor for Westinghouse Electric Company and later by Southland Corporation and Excel Energy for many years. He loved to visit with family and friends and was very fond of his grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by one brother, Andrew; and parents, Andrew and Catherine (Mushko) Lakatosh.

He is survived by his wife, Christel (Weitschies) Lakatosh of McCook; sister, Helen Barna of Whitehall, Pennsylvania; sister, Jean Flurer of Allentown, Pennsylvania; brother, Albert Lakatosh of Northampton, Pennsylvania; sister, Marie Ritter and husband, Theodore of Bridgewater, New Jersey; son, David Andrew Lakatosh of Aurora, Colorado; daughter, Deborah Jean (Lakatosh) Arp and son-in-law Gregory Thomas Arp of McCook, Nebraska; grandson, Christopher Lee Arp of Hickman, Nebraska; grandson Colin Tyler Arp of Boulder, Colorado; granddaughter Emily Christel Arp and grandson Mark Andrew Arp, both of McCook; many nieces, nephews, five great-grandchildren and friends.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Monday, Aug. 15, 2011, at the Memorial United Methodist Church in McCook with the Rev. Lance Clay officiating.

Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in McCook. Visitation will be Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sunday from 1-6 p.m.

Memorials may be given in his name and left at the funeral home.
