McCOOK, Nebraska -- Evert Edwin "Mo" Mosher, 92, passed away Tuesday, July 26, 2011, at Community Hospital in McCook, Nebraska.

He was born Marhc 7, 1919, in Eads, Colorado, the son of the late Jake and Flossie (Joy) Mosher. In 1929, the family moved to Lanesboro, Iowa, where he continued his education.

On Dec. 4, 1942, Evert entered the U.S. Army Air Corp. For three years, he was stationed at the McCook Air Base and served at Clark Field in the South Pacific, including Luzon and Leyte.

On July 3, 1943, Evert married Doris L. Bortner at Memorial united Methodist Church in McCook.

Following his honorable discharge from the service on Jan. 14, 1946, the couple moved to Iowa for two years, where they farmed around Glidden and Lanesboro. They returned to McCook, where they spent their life farming and ranching northwest of McCook on the Red Willow Creek.

he was a member of Memorial United Methodist Church in McCook, the McCook Masonic Lodge 135 A.F. and A.M., all masonic bodies in McCook, the Tehama Western Shrine, the Eureka Chapter 86 Order of the Eastern Star, a former commander of the American Legion, a member of the Veteran of Foreign Wars, the Eagles and the Lyons Club.

Evert is survived by his wife, Doris Mosher of McCook; son, Dannie Mosher of McCook; daughter, Gloria Jean Foxworthy and husband, Darold of Parker, Colorado; son, Edwin Mosher and wife, Edie of Cheyenne, Wyoming; 12 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, Bobbie, Roy, Lawrence and Ernest Mosher; and one sister, Ruby Warnke.

Funeral services are Friday, 10 a.m., at Herrmann Memorial Chapel in McCook with Pastor Lana Fong officiating. Interment will follow at 2 p.m. at Fort McPherson National Cemetery in Maxwell, Nebraska with military honors.

Visitation is Thursday from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m.

Memorials may be given in his name and left at the funeral home.
