On the move

Tuesday, May 10, 2011
A Hornbacher House Moving truck driver and crew thread the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) Museum under wires raised by Nebraska Public Power District (and Great Plains Communications, not shown) personnel, when the museum moved 200 feet through Kelley Park in McCook, Nebraska, early Monday afternoon. Del Hornbacher and his family -- two sons, one son-in-law and two grandsons -- moved the 72-year-old stone museum from its location on East M to a new foundation north of the shelter house and west of the city's swimming pool to make way for a new McCook Community College events center. Depending upon available time, the museum was to be nudged and wheeled onto its foundation late Monday afternoon or early this morning. (Connie Jo Discoe/McCook Daily Gazette)
