Gordon L. Johnson

McCOOK, Nebraska -- Gordon Lyle Johnson, 82, died Monday (March 14, 2011), at Morton County Health Center in Elkhart, Kansas.

He was born Jan. 13, 1929, in Minden, Nebraska, the son of the late Iner and Mary (Ostergaard) Johnson. Gordon grew up in Minden where he graduated from Minden High School.

He honorably served in the U.S. Navy.

On July 1, 1951, Gordon married Nancy Goodman in Lincoln, Nebraska. The y came to McCook in 1960, where they owned and operated the McCook TV and Hi-Fi business until retirement in 1991.

He was a member of the American Radio Relay League.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy of McCook; and one sister, Renee Lieske of Minden, Nebraska.

Visitation is today until 9 p.m.

Graveside services are Thursday, 2 p.m., at Memorial Park Cemetery in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Memorials may be given in his name and sent to Herrmann Funeral Home of McCook.
