CAMBRIDGE, Nebraska -- Emma Ruth Harding, 94, died Friday (Dec. 24, 2010), at her home in Cambridge.

She was born March 7, 1916, near Holbrook, Nebraska to Lloyd and Nell (Davis) Stephen. She attended school through the eighth grade in Holbrook.

On May 21, 1936 she married Lloyd Harding at Beaver City, Nebraska. She spent most of her life on the farm north of Cambridge and worked for the Cambridge Memorial Hospital for nine years as a nurse's aid. They retired and moved to town in 1973.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lloyd on Feb. 20, 1996; three sisters, Mildred Noel, Marge Stephens and Grace Karash; two brothers, Eldon and Floyd Stephens; and son-in-law, Bob Phillips.

Survivors include three daughters, Carolyn and husband, Don Sayer of Hutchison, Kansas, Marilyn and husband, Larry Kubik of Cambridge and Judy Phillips of Curtis; one son, Don and wife, Aneta Harding of Cambridge; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Tuesday at Trinity United Methodist Church of Cambridge with the Rev. Sherry Sklenar officiating. Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery of Cambridge.

Memorials may be left to the Tri Valley Health System of Cambridge.
