ST. PAUL -- Lois A. Solko, 67, died Monday (March 8, 2010) at the Howard County Medical Center in St. Paul.

She was born on Oct. 13, 1942, at Oberlin, the daughter of Clarence and Stella (Niemeth) Sattler. She grew up in Herndon, Kan., graduating from Herndon Rural High School in 1960.

On Aug. 6, 1960, she married Gerald L. Solko at Herndon, Kan.

She lived in Hays, Kan., later moving to Omaha. In 1970, she moved to York, where she worked for Lincoln Telephone & Telegraph and Hut-33 Sporting Goods Store. In 1980 she moved to St. Paul. She worked as a waitress at the American Legion Club in St. Paul for many years, until retiring in 2008.

She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and its Council of Catholic Women and the St. Paul Country Club.

Survivors include her husband, Gerald L. Solko of St. Paul; one daughter, Catherine Solko and husband, David Breslin of Herndon, Va.; one son, Mike and wife, Carmen Solko of St. Paul; three brothers, Gerald and wife, Carol Sattler of Madison, Wis., Tom and wife, Myra Sattler of Herndon, Kan., and Kenneth of Kenosha, Wis.; four sisters, Pat and husband, George Cardinal of Salina, Kan., Theresa and husband, Richard Rippe of Ludell, Kan., Nortna and husband, Roger Cichorz of Boulder, Colo., and Pat Louise and husband, Gary Sloan of Colby, Kan.; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Services were at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in St. Paul with the Rev. Ray Kosmicki officiating. Burial was in the Elmwood Cemetery in St. Paul.
