SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. -- Robert N. Knedlik was born July 12, 1951, in Manhattan, Kan. He died suddenly of heart failure on Aug. 3, 2009.

Bob is survived by his devoted wife, Sarah, his sisters, Marcia and Elizabeth and two nephews, David and Christopher.

Bob was predeceased by his parents, Norton and Marjorie Knedlik.

After attending college at the University of Colorado in Boulder, Colo., he received a Bachelor of Music degree. He then moved to Los Angeles, Calif., where he played bass trombone with the Ray Charles Orchestra for three years.

Subsequently, in 1978, Bob moved to San Francisco and began a career in Informational Technology. He was currently employed by VISA as a director. While working for VISA, Bob acquired his MBA.

He continued to enjoy music and attended symphony and opera productions. He was also a published author and avid photographer.

Friends and family attended a memorial service at the Neptune Society on Aug. 11, 2009.
