INDIANOLA -- Fred Alfred Gray, Jr., 65, of Indianola, died Tuesday (July 21, 2009) at Cambridge Memorial Hospital.

He was born in Sterling, Colo., Dec.12, 1943, to Fred Alfred and Velona Grace (Daniels) Gray. He grew up in the Sterling area.

He married Evelyn Williams on Sept. 4, 1975. His jobs had him traveling throughout his life. He moved back to McCook from Arkansas in 1964. He worked for Roger Goltl as a drywaller and also as a bartender and bouncer at several local establishments. In 1996, he and Evelyn moved to Indianola to make their home.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Clifford, Melvin and Kenneth and sisters, Velma and Lucille.

Survivors include his wife Evelyn of Indianola; three daughters, Tina Marie and husband, Jeff Wegele of Indianola, Bernadette and husband, Darin Minor of McCook and Christi Dunbar St. Charles, Mo.; two sons, Roger Salmon of Fort Morgan, Colo., and Rick and Angie Lalan of Laffette, Colo.; two brothers: Virgil and wife, Rose Mary of Atwood and Calvin and wife, Edith of Denver, Colo.; sister, Violet Gray of Sterling; and 14 grandchildren.

Memorial services are being planned for a later date.

Memorials may be left in his name at the Lockenour-Jones Mortuary in Cambridge.
