Dorothy B. Geihsler died Monday, May 18, 2009 at Phelps County Memorial Hospital in Holdrege. She was 92 years old.

Dorothy was born near Maywood to Winfred A. and Mary Agnus (Trotter) Parker. She graduated from Curtis High School in 1936.

On Aug. 28, 1938, she was united in marriage to Clarence E. Geihsler at his parents' home near Palisade. To this union two children, Joan and Gaylon were born. They made their home on the family farm where Dorothy was a homemaker and helped with the farming operation. They retired from the farm in 1974 and moved to Palisade. In October of 2004, Dorothy moved to Holdrege to be near her son and family.

She became a member of Palisade Trinity Lutheran Church in 1939 and remained a life-long member. She was also a member of Lutheran Women Missionary League and served as church organist for many years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Winfred and Mary Parker; her husband, Clarence on March 16, 1997; infant daughter, Joan Carol; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Phillip Parker and wife, Doris, William Parker and wife, Evelyn and Charles Parker and wife, Maxine; and brother-in-law Ray Smith.

Survivors include her son, Gaylon Geihsler and wife, Helen of Holdrege; grandchildren, Scott Geihsler and son, Michael of Greeley, Colo., Grant Geihsler and wife, Loni and their son, Chase of Derby, Kan., and Kari Stattler and her daughter, Kalee of Lincoln; two brothers, Wayne Parker and wife, Leona of Curtis and Robert Trotter and wife, Joan of Laramie, Wyo.; one sister, Phyllis Smith of Sebring, Fla.; and numerous nieces, nephews and family.

Memorials may be given in her name.

Visitation will be today until 8 p.m.

Services will be Thursday, May 21, 2009, 11 a.m., at Trinity Lutheran Church in Palisade with Pastor Greg Stuckwisch officiating. Burial will be in the Palisade Cemetery.

Carpenter Breland Funeral Home of McCook is in charge of the arrangements.
