Ankerson, Brill wedding
KEARNEY -- Melissa Ankersen of McCook and Brandon Brill of Kearney were united in marriage Aug. 16, 2008, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Kearney with the Rev. Rob. Kuefner officiating.
Parents of the couple are Russ and Sue Ankersen of McCook and Kent and Susan Brill of Kearney.
The bride's grandparents are Lorelie and Robert Ankersen of Beatrice, Richard Calhoon of Beatrice and Margaret Calhoon of Minneapolis, Minn. Grandmother of the bridegroom is Darlene Fullerton of North Platte.
Stephanie Starnes, sister of the bride of Kileen, Texas was the maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Samantha Brill, sister of the bridegroom of Kearney, Mckenzie Kohler of Kearney, Chelsea Ankersen, cousin of the bride of Wymore, Andrea McGuire, cousin of the bride of St. Louis Mo., and Laura Kohmetscher of McCook.
Kent Brill, father of the bridegroom of Kearney served as best man.
Bridegroomsmen were Pat True of Denver, Colo., Zach Malcolm of Oshkosh, Joe Richardson of Colorado Springs, Colo., Tim Harper of Kearney and Ryan Ankersen, brother of the bride, of McCook.
Mackenzie Starnes, niece of the bride of Kileen Texas was the flower girls and Colton Thornberg, cousin of the bridegroom of Hershey was the ring bearer. Candlelighters were Candice and Mike Dooley of Glenvil.
Dan Hospodka of Gretna, Chris Dutton of Kearney, Kyle Swanson of Kearney and Drew Buettner, cousin of the bridegroom of Kearney were ushers. The organist was Shawn Pfanstiel of McCook. Russ and Sue Ankersen, parents of the bride, Angie Rieners of McCook and Jeri Lynn Karr of McCook were the soloists.
A reception was at the Buffalo County Fairgrounds. Guestbook attendants were Mckayla Calhoon of Estancia N.M., and Madison Plautz of Lincoln. Host couples were Rick and Joan Swim of Springview and Lori Plautz of Lincoln and the late Dan Plautz.
The bride graduated with a bachelor's degree in May 2008 and is waiting to go back to nursing school in the fall.
The bridegroom graduated with a bachelors degree in May 2008 and is attending school at Logan College of Chiropractic in St. Louis, Mo..
After a honeymoon in Riviera Maya, Mexico, the couple is living in St. Louis.
