SCOTT CITY, Kan. -- Bruce L. Farr, 61, died Saturday (Nov. 1, 2008) in Scott County, Kan.

He was born Aug. 19, 1947, in Oberlin to Francis "Sam" L. and Donna Faye (Stratton) Farr Sr. He grew up on a farm northeast of Oberlin and attended Decatur Community High School.

He served in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II. After his service he returned to Oberlin before moving to Scandia, Kan., and later Scott City.

He married Melba Frarrand and was a truckdriver for a feedyard.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Donna Farr Sr. and three brothers, Steven, Allen and Robert.

Survivors include his wife, Melba Farr of Scott City; son, Frederick and wife, Shelli Farr of Berlin, Ohio; daughters, Windy Farr and fiance, Chris Kuhlman of Oberlin and Minnie Dawn Farr of San Diego, Calif.; brother, Alfred and wife, Donna of Oxford, Donald of Oberlin and Francis and wife, Deb Farr Jr., of North Platte; sisters, Carolyn and husband, Merlin Rippe of Oberlin, Marilyn Farr of Oberlin, Linda Brunswick of McCook and Glenda Chase of Colby, Kan.; and three grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Thursday, 2:30 p.m., at Pauls Funeral Home in Oberlin with the Revs. Gene Gee and Ward Clinton officiating. Interment will be in the Oberlin Cemetery.

Visitation is today until 8 p.m., and Thursday from 8 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.

Memorials may be given in his name.
