LeRoy G. Ulrich died Tuesday, May 13, 2008, at the age of 69 at his home in McCook

He was born Feb. 22, 1939, to Louis and Francis (Richards) Ulrich in Oberlin, Kan. He graduated from McCook High School in 1957.

LeRoy married Avis L. Sheldon on Oct. 18, 1958, in Oberlin. To this union two children were born, Byron and Shree.

He was a member of the McCook Elks Club, enjoyed old cars, boating, camping, fishing, grilling, gardening, yard work, being a carpenter and working on puzzles. He worked as a diesel mechanic for Automotive Sales & Service for more than 40 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Francis Ulrich; one brother, Robert Ulrich; and two sisters, Carol Arrdal and Ann Geihsler.

He is survived by his wife, Avis Ulrich of McCook; one son, Byron Ulrich and wife, Tanya of Grand Island; one daughter, Shree and husband, Brad Arends of Grand Island; one brother, Ray Ulrich and wife, Nancy of Rockledge, Fla.; five sisters, Mary Lou and husband, Bob Ross of Culbertson, Katherine Prater of Dublin, Texas, Kay and husband, Dean Michel of Denver, Colo., Heddy and husband, Wayne Reiners and Genny Mowe, all of McCook; eight grandchildren, Jamie Sue, Jeffrey, Joslynne, Colton, Jesse, Elijah, Bobby and Clay; and three great-grandchildren, Alexis, Jonathon and Aliyah.

Memorials may be given in his name.

Funeral services will be Saturday, May 17, 2008, 11 a.m. at the Carpenter Breland Funeral Home with Pastor Clark Bates officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be today until 6 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m.
