Goldie E. Raulston

OBERLIN -- Goldie E. Raulston, 95, died Tuesday (March 25, 2008) in Simpsonville, S.C.

She was born Feb. 12, 1913, in the Lund Community in Decatur County, to Eugene and Clara (Lundquist) Rydquist. She grew up on the family farm in Decatur County.

On Dec. 16, 1933, she married Russell W. Raulston at her family's home. They farmed in the Lund Community before moving to Oberlin. She worked as a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Russell Raulston; two brothers, Norris and Keith Rydquist; two sisters, Muriel Rydquist and Rena Hickson; and a grandson, Danny Lynn Raulston.

Survivors include her son, Lemoin Raulston and wife, Joyce of Simpsonville, S.C.; daughter, Leila Christensen and husband, Bent of Australia; two sisters, Eunice Dunn of Red Cloud and Neva Brown of Sacramento, Calif.; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Services will be Tuesday, 10 a.m., at Pauls Funeral Home in Oberlin with the Rev. Heidi Wiebe officiating. Interment will be in the Oberlin Cemetery.

Visitation is today until 8 p.m., and Tuesday from 8 a.m., until time of service at the funeral home.

Memorials may be given in her name.
