Caroline F. Rippen died Wednesday, March 5, 2008, at Hillcrest Nursing Home in McCook at the age of 95.

She was born April 3, 1912, at Culbertson, the daughter of the late Jacob and Katherine (Kessler) Frick. She attended school in Culbertson.

On March 8, 1934, Caroline married Willard E. Rippen at Culbertson. To this union was born one daughter.

Caroline was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church for more than 75 years where she was a member of the choir for more than 50 years. She was a member of the Culbertson Federated Women's Club since 1938 and a member of the Laugh A Lot card club.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Willard on June 18, 1970; two grandsons, Gary and Larry Sailors; sons-in-law, Staff Sergeant Wayne L. Sailors, C. Howard Leach and Charles L. Brown; her parents; two sisters, Mary Jeffress and Esther McLeland; and five brothers, Jake, George, Carl, Fred and David Frick.

Caroline is survived by her daughter, Karen Brown of Lebanon; four grandsons, Terry Sailors and wife, Marilyn, Mike Sailors and wife, Aimee, James Sailors and Scott Leach and wife, Tabitha; great-grandchildren, Shane and Lisa Sterling, Tracy Brown, Antony Sailors, Cole Leach, Ashlyn Steier and Kirstyn Shellabarger; great-great-grandchildren, Kaitlin Maxwell, Kaeli and Kendyl Sterling; and a list of other relatives and friends.

Memorial services were today at Trinity United Methodist Church in Culbertson with the Rev. Richard Melano officiating. A private family inurnment preceded the memorial service in the Culbertson Cemetery.

Memorials may be given in her name and friends may sign her register at Herrmann Funeral Home in McCook during business hours.
