Doris Elaine Lippold

TRENTON -- Doris Elaine Lippold, 87, died Tuesday (Jan. 1, 2008) at Community Hospital in McCook.

She was born Oct. 24, 1920, in Ludell Township, in Rawlins County to Joseph and Ruth (Henningson) Goltl. She grew up on a farm in Rawlins County and attended Lonesome View District 17 and Herndon High School, graduating in 1938.

She married Ivan Edward Lippold on Sept. 3, 1942, in Denver, Colo. She worked as a homemaker and was a news reporter for the Oberlin and Atwood newspapers. She lived in Herndon until May 6, 2002. She moved to Willow Ridge in McCook and then to El Dorado Manor in Trenton on Sept. 15, 2007.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Ruth Goltl; husband, Ivan Lippold on Jan. 1, 1986; infant brother, Arlie; and sister, Birdene Lippold.

Survivors include her son, Jerry Lippold and wife, Connie of Apalachin, N.Y.; two sisters, Virginia Goltl and Darlene Pope, both of Aurora, Colo.; and one grandson.

Graveside services will be Friday, 11 a.m., in the Oberlin Cemetery, with the Rev. Rick Langness officiating.

Memorials may be given in her name.
