Dean V. Utter

CHICAGO HEIGHTS, Ill. -- Dean V. Utter, 77, died Oct. 27, 2007, in Chicago Heights, Ill.

He was born Feb. 3, 1930, in McCook Thomas and Melina "Minnie" (Propp) Utter. Attended McCook High School and was an all-conference athlete. He was raised with his cousin, Flora Lundberg of McCook

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and retired as a lieutenant from the Tinley Park (Ill.) police department after 23 years of service.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lora Lou Terrell.

Survivors include his children, Robert and wife, Margaret, Lorean Likavec, Thomas and wife, Rosemarie, and Deanne and husband, Daniel McKenzie; a brother, James and wife, Sarah Utter of North Platte; and cousin, Flora Lundberg of McCook; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Services were Oct. 30, Zion Lutheran Church at 17100 S. 68th Ave. in Tinley Park, IL 60477. Interment was at Skyline Memorial Park Richmont, Ill.
