ATWOOD -- Mary Ann Fredrickson Howland Lorimer, 76, died Monday (Sept. 24, 2007) at Rawlins County Health Center in Atwood.

She was born Oct. 30, 1930, to Carl Gustav and Hilda Elizabeth (Carlson) Fredrickson at the Swedish Community of Lund, Decatur County. She attended the first grade at Westminister, Colo., and the rest of her school years at Oberlin. She was baptized and attended church as a child at the Lund Covenant Church.

On July 10, 1948, she married Warren V. Howland at Atwood. They lived in and around Atwood and Ludell until 1966, when they moved to the Howland farm south of Ludell. She worked as a homemaker. He died June 16, 1981.

On Jan. 1, 2000, she married Doran Neil Lorimer at Historical Church in Atwood.

She was a member of Eastern Star, Rebekah Lodge, and the United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Warren; sisters, Norma Jeannette and infant, Doris.

Survivors include her husband Doran Lorimer; children, Richard and wife, Mary of Atwood, Ronald and wife, Greta and Roger and wife, Tammy all of Jewell, Kan., and Roxanne and husband, Allen Castens of Ludell; step-daughters, Lavonna and husband, Don Flora of Lawrence, Kan., and Joan Ahmed of Topeka, Kan.; sister-in-law, Edna Gunther of Kansas City, Kan.; 15 grandchildren; one step-granddaughter; 12 great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be Friday, 10:30 a.m., at United Methodist Church in Atwood, with the Rev. Terry McGuire officiating. Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Ludell.

Visitation will be Thursday, 9 a.m. - 8 p.m., at the Williams Funeral Home in Atwood and Friday after 9:30 a.m., at the church.

Memorials may be given in her name to Rawlins County Health Center.

Williams Funeral Home of Atwood is in charge of arrangements.
