WINNEBAGO -- Andrew C. Wolfe Sr., formerly of McCook, died Tuesday (Sept. 11, 2007), at his home.

He was born Nov. 12, 1937, in Winnebago to Richard and Cora Belle (Maney) Wolfe. He graduated from Walthill High School in 1955 and joined the U.S. Marine Corps.

He attended technical college in Mitchell, S.D., and Milford and later became an alcoholism counselor and was a member of the National Association of Alcoholism Counselors. He worked at the Region II Alcohol Center in McCook during the 1980s.

On Jan. 30, 1960, he married Sally Sydow. They were later divorced.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Cora Belle; his father, Richard; his stepfather, Joe Van Ackeran Sr.; and a stepsister, Marge Davis.

Survivors include three daughters, Leisa Wolfe-Guerrero, Sheila Hauswirth and Tracey Wolfe; a son, Andrew Wolfe Jr.; a sister, Brenda Wolfe; a brother, Joe Van Ackeran Jr.; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and longtime companion, Kris Krupicka.

Services were today at the Ho Chunk Community Center in Winnebago. Burial followed at Winnebago Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Munderloh Funeral Home in Pender.
