Larry L. Parsons, 54, died Sunday, Jan. 21, 2007 at his home in McCook.

He was born March 16, 1952, to Otto M. and Mabel B. (Daniels) Parsons at McCook.  At an early age, he moved with his family to Stratton where he attended school and was a graduate of Stratton High School.

He was inducted into the U.S. Navy on Nov. 4, 1970, and proudly served his country before receiving his Honorable Discharge on Sept. 10, 1974.

At the time of his passing, he was employed by Parker-Hannifin of McCook for more than 28 years.  He was a Ham Radio operator and a member of the Red Willow County Sheriff's Posse, as well as a lifetime member of the VFW -- Post No. 1652.  He enjoyed target shooting, scuba diving, and always looked forward to spending time with his grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Otto and Mabel Parsons and sister-in-law, Joan Parsons.

Survivors include his son, Adam Parsons and wife, Jody of North Platte, and their three children, Caleb, Corey, and Samantha.  He is also survived by his sisters, Denise Cox and husband, Larry of Kansas City, Mo., and Diana Heiden and husband, Gordon of Waco; brother, Lyndel Parsons of Black Canyon City, Ariz.; special friend, Cindy Lambert of Lincoln; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Visitation is today from 3-7 p.m. at Community United Methodist Church in Stratton.

Funeral Services will be Thursday, 11 a.m. at the church with Rev. Brian Fong officiating.  Interment with military honors will follow services at Rose Hill Cemetery near Stratton.
