GOODLAND, Kan. -- Mabel Bickett Kennedy, 91, died Sunday (Dec. 17, 2006) at Goodland Regional Medical Center.

She was born May 13, 1915, to Walter and Naomi (Fee) Bickett in Woodruff, Kan. She grew up in Woodruff and Traer and attended Woodruff, Traer and Oberlin schools graduating in 1933.

On Aug. 24, 1939, she married Walter Kennedy. They lived in Cedar Bluffs from 1939 to 1944 and then in Oberlin. She taught school and worked at Decatur County Hospital.

She was a member of the Oberlin Assembly of God.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Naomi; husband, Walter; and one brother, Boyce Bickett.

Survivors include two daughters, Twila and Dwayne Scott of Wathena, Kan., and Linda and Paul Chaffin of Goodland, Kan.; one brother, Virgil and Marie Bickett of Aurora, Colo.; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, 2:30 p.m., at Pauls Funeral Home in Oberlin, with the Rev. Royce Leitner officiating. Interment will follow in the Oberlin Cemetery.

Visitation is today until 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 8 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Memorials may be given to the Oberlin Assembly of God.
