OBERLIN -- Ethel Schroeder, 70, died Saturday (Oct. 21, 2006) at the Decatur County Hospital.

She was born Aug. 15. 1936, in Milwaukee, Wis., to Robert and Miriam (Kuhn) McDermott. She later moved to Oberlin.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and a stepson, Tony Schroeder.

Survivors include her husband, Rex Schroeder of Oberlin; one son, Bob Stanley and wife, Alice of Oberlin; a stepson, Rob Schroeder and wife, Gwen of Hugo, Colo.; one daughter, Darlene Johnson and husband, Mike of Grand Rapids, Mich.; two stepdaughters, Sherry Arnott and husband, Bill of Folsom, Calif., and Judy Fritz of Hinesburg, Vt.; two sisters, Jeanne Cline of Colby, Kan., and Roberta Harrings of Cedarburg, Wis.; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Services will be Wednesday, 11a.m., at Pauls Funeral Home in Oberlin, with the Rev. Henry Saw Lone officiating. Interment will follow in the Oberlin Cemetery.

There will be no visitation, her body was cremated.

Memorials may be given to the Ethel Schroeder memorial fund.
