ATWOOD -- Floyd F. Wicke, 92, died Thursday (Oct. 12, 2006).

He was born Jan. 16, 1913, at Ludell. He was a farmer and stockman on a farm north of Ludell until his retirement. He was a resident of the Atwood Good Samaritan Center for the past four years.

He was preceded in death by a son, Floyd Jerome; one grandson, Kirk; and a son-in-law, Milton Hestermann.

Survivors include his wife, Lucile; two daughters, Gloria Ackerman and husband, Richard of Beloit, Kan., and Myrna Hestermann of Denver, Colo.; one son, James Wicke and wife, Deb of Clifton, Colo.; two sisters, Henrietta Frick and Betty Hestermann, both of Ludell; seven grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and six step-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Atwood, with the Rev. Don White officiating. Burial will follow in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Ludell.

Friends may call the funeral home from 9 a.m. - 9 p.m. today through Wednesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church.

Memorial may be given to the Redeemer Lutheran Church and the Atwood Good Samaritan Center.
