LARKSPUR, Colo. -- Edward Jay Orin died Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2006, at the Larkspur, Colo., exit on Interstate 25 due to a motor vehicle accident. He was 46 years of age.

He was born July 1, 1959, at Loveland, Colo., the son of Charles and Joni (Smith) Orin Jr. Ed grew up on a ranch at Grover, Colo., and attended Pawnee High School, he also attended the Greeley High School and received his GED from the Sterling Community College at Sterling, Colo.

He married Cindy Mason at Sterling where he was employed as a truck driver for Timmerman Feed Yard. In 1996, he joined his brother Michael as independent contract drivers for FedEx Ground Transportation. Ed and his whole family enjoyed building hot rods and especially loved his 1968 Barracuda automobile. His sons, Jess and Jay, and his grandsons, Brenden and James, were his pride and joy. He was well loved and will be missed. A special, gentle soul.

Edward is survived by two sons, Jess Orin and wife, Marsha and Jay Orin and wife, Andrea, and grandsons, Brenden Charles Orin and James Alan Orin, all of Sterling; his parents, Charles and Joni Orin of Rutheford, N.C.; two brothers, Michael Orin and wife, Yvette of Alamosa, Colo., and John Orin and wife, Linda of Forest City, N.C.; one sister, Patty Orin of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and nephews, nieces and friends.

Rosary will be 7:30 p.m. Sunday at Herrmann Memorial Chapel in McCook and Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 13, 2006, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in McCook with Rev. Gary Brethour officiating. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery in McCook.

Memorials may be given in his name and friends may call at Herrmann Funeral Home, from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m., and Sunday, from 1 p.m. until the time of rosary.
